Lismore Diocese Celebrates the Ordination of three Deacons to the Priesthood

December 7, 2011 9:29 am
The ordination of three new priests is an event of great joy for the faithful of Lismore Diocese. Fathers James Foster, Roland Agrisola and Shelwin Fernandez are new servants of the people. They will bring Christ’s love to the faithful who look to the Lord for meaning and salvation. Their ordinations bring to a conclusion the long path of formation for priesthood. Their thorough preparation has spanned up to seven years both in seminary and parish settings. However, the conclusion of priestly formation marks the beginning. They start the exciting journey of priestly service in the parishes of Lismore Diocese. We congratulate each of them on this achievement. We thank each of them for their generosity. We give praise to God for the abundant graces bestowed on them.
The ordination will take place in St. Carthage’s Cathedral on Thursday December 8 at 7pm.
The Ordaining Bishop will be the Most Reverend Geoffrey Jarrett, Bishop of Lismore and the Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Brisbane.
An invitation is extended to all to be part of this historic ordination ceremony. Visitors will come from the Phillipines and from many parts of Australia.
