Catholic Schools Week is celebrated across NSW and ACT from 1-7 May, 2011. This year the theme is:
A learning adventure, a journey of faith
This theme reflects the commitment of all parish schools in the Diocese of Lismore to provide an excellent education to all students within a context of celebration of Catholic faith and life.
In 2011, over 17,000 students are enrolled in parish schools across the Diocese. Catholic Schools Week provides an opportunity to give thanks to the priests and parishioners, the parents and families, the principals, teachers and support staff and colleagues at the Catholic Education Office for their ongoing commitment to this significant work of the Church.
This Diocese has a proud history of Catholic Education stretching back over 150 years. As enrolment numbers continue to grow and school facilities continue to expand, particularly in recent time through Building the Education Revolution funding, we pause to thank all those who have gone before and laid such strong foundations. We continue to strive to bring Christ into the lives of all the young people in our care whilst providing them with learning experiences that will prepare them for life.
Parish school communities will plan various events to celebrate Catholic Schools Week.
