Aged Care Services
The Diocese has a long and proud history of supporting older people through aged and community care.
The Diocese and its parishes offer personal care, home care, domestic assistance, social support, respite, day club and transportation.
There are four residential aged care and four community care services in our Diocese that maintain and uphold the dignity of the human person at their core, and offer caring, compassionate care to all:
- Crowley Care – St Francis Xavier Parish, Ballina (residential aged care, home care and independent living)
- Sawtell Catholic Care – Our Lady of Christians Parish, Sawtell (residential aged care, home care and independent living)
- St Agnes’ Care & Lifestyle – St Agnes’ Parish, Port Macquarie (residential care, home care and independent living)
- St Carthage’s Community Care – St Carthage’s Cathedral Parish, Lismore (community care and independent living)
- St Joseph’s Nursing Home – St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Lismore (residential aged care)
In addition, there are large and small independent living villages, run by parishes for their communities. They play a vital role in supporting safe and suitable accommodation for older people. The extensive range of facilities offered throughout the diocese is sure to have something to meet your needs or those of the people near and dear to you.
If you don’t have a diocese aged or community care service close to where you live, there are Catholic options available through Southern Cross Care and Catholic Healthcare.
