Catholic Life has received national recognition at the Australian Catholic Press Association Awards, securing two honours.
The Diocese of Lismore’s official magazine won Most Improved Publication, Print, with judges describing it as a “standout winner” following its overhaul after a 5-year hiatus. The judging panel highlighted the new design, storytelling, and photography, celebrating the editorial team’s work in creating a magazine that is “genuinely full of life…fresh, engaging, and a joy to read”.
Catholic Life was also awarded runner-up for Best Layout and Design, Print. Judges noted how the beautiful modern design and effective use of white space bring readers directly into the faith community across the Diocese of Lismore, praising the varied stories and photographs that convey real joy.
“Thank you to all the writers, contributors, photographers, and Barefruit Marketing for making Catholic Life what it is today,” Editor, Barry de Silva said.
“We are so grateful to our diocesan community for their affection for the magazine since its return. Our aim has always been to inform, inspire, and reflect the vibrant life of our diocese. These awards are of great encouragement to the editorial team as we start preparing for our Christmas edition.”
