The Filipino Australian Community Choir from Port Macquarie held its first-ever spiritual retreat at St Mary’s Parish, Maclean, from 25-26 October 2025.  The two-day event was a truly enjoyable and enriching experience for all, offering a safe, fun and faith-nourishing environment for everyone involved.

Although Fr Roland Agrisola and Sr Di Moralde CM had previously provided our group with spiritual formation sessions, this retreat marked the first time our choir had gathered for a full spiritual renewal experience. We were blessed to have Fr Roland and Sr Di as their facilitators, with their warmth, wisdom and guidance, which made the sessions truly meaningful and inspiring.

The discussions centered around the Jubilee Year of Hope, giving everyone the opportunity to share their thoughts and reflections that left our hearts full and uplifted.  One of the highlights was the “Languages of Love” activity, a favourite among the participants.  It was both engaging and deeply reflective.

On the second day, the group attended Mass, and had the joy of meeting and connecting with some of the local parishioners at St Mary’s Parish, further strengthening the spirit of community and fellowship.

Overall, this first spiritual retreat was a beautiful experience of faith, friendship and renewal.  It reminded us of the joy of growing together in hope and love as one community in Christ.
